Copythorne Amateur Theatrical Society will be presenting Emma Reeves’ highly acclaimed adaptation of  ‘Carrie’s War’ by Nina Bawden.  Written for children in 1973, but widely read by adults, the book and its stage adaptation describes the experiences of 12 year old Carrie Willow and her brother Nick when they are evacuated to Wales in the opening years of World War Two. Thirty years later, Carrie, still haunted by the ‘dreadful thing that she did as a child’, returns to the Welsh town, ready to confront her past. And the ‘dreadful thing’? Well, come and find out!

Suitable for audiences of all ages, CATS will be performing the play at Copythorne Parish Hall on  Sunday 7th May at 2.30 and again on Friday 12th and Saturday 13th at 7.30 pm. Tickets (£6 adults and £5 for children under 16) are available from Bartley Post Office, Bramshaw Stores and Landford Village Stores or by ringing our box office on 023 80811731. A family ticket (2 adults and 2 children) is also available for £20.

This is an amateur production by arrangement with David Higham Associates.
