The Minstead Flower Show Society is affiliated with the Royal Horticultural Society.
It organises an annual flower, fruit and vegetable show in the Village Hall, usually on the first Saturday in September.
This year’s show took place yesterday, Saturday 5th September 2020!
The Hall was brought to life in a mass of colour as over 350 entries were displayed (71 of which were entered by the children) at the 69th Annual Minstead Flower Show.
Classes ranged from beautiful flower arrangements “Celebrating 100 years of the Village Hall Life”, Vases & Bowls of Roses, Dahlias, Gladioli, an assortment of show-stopping vegetable and fruit classes, Eggs, Homecrafts and over 21 different children classes that included, Celebration Bunting, Heaviest Potato Crop, Vegetable Musical Instruments, Acorn Fairies and Elves and Handwriting and scarecrows.
New for 2020, was our scarecrow trail – 12 family groups took part, re-creating a swashbuckling, treasure plundering pirate, after judging they were placed strategically on a short trail around the village. They are on display till Sunday evening, please see map below.
Though this year’s show was a little different with social-distancing and face masks, it was very well attended.
Many thanks to all those who took part, to help bring a truly memorable show together for our community.
