Several relevant Alerts have been promulgated recently – including advice regarding hedgecutting and nesting birds; A scam involving a Postcard stating “We are holding a parcel for you”; Fraudulent Investment advice; and Vishing (Voice Phishing) calls resulting in transfer of large amounts of money from your Bank to another account.

MINSTEAD OIL
As mentioned before, oil orders should be sent to Minsteadoil@gmail.com by 9am on Wednesday 18th February 2015. All requests for oil made to Minstead Oil will be accepted as firm orders UNLESS you specify AT THE TIME OF ordering that you wish to be advised of price, delivery or company (or any combination) before confirming your order.
Future dates are 18th March then May, July and September.
Local POLICE ALERT Message from PC Rob MORANT
I have been informed of a People’s Post Code Lottery scam that has been sent to a resident in Copythorne letting them know they had won £825,000; fortunately they did not call the company or pay the release fee. Please be aware of this scam and if you receive a letter that appears to be too good to be true please report it to Action Fraud on 0300 123 2040 as they collate the information on these letters for investigation.

You may be interested to join Hampshire Police and Crime Commissioner Simon Hayes in a discussion on maintaining neighbourhood policing in times of austerity on Thursday 12th February 2015, 14:30- 16:30 at Basingstoke Discovery Centre, Festival Place, Basingstoke when he will be asking the Chief Constable, Andy Marsh how the police are addressing the challenges of resourcing local policing with ever tightening budgets. There will be a Q&A session for members of the public to ask Simon and Andy their questions on this topic.
