ROAD REPAIRS

For those not already aware, Hampshire County Council is responsible for the maintenance of all roads in Minstead except for the A31 which is the responsibility of the Highways Agency. See HCC Guide 2014 for information on Highway Traffic and Transport including reporting and contact details.

Click here to report a road problem such as a pothole to Hampshire County Council.  Although the PC does its best to report all dangerous potholes in the Village, the more individual people who report them the sooner something is likely to be done to fix them.  Do try and take a photograph and if you do we suggest you put something next to it, like a bunch of keys, to give an indication of its size and depth.

SUMMER PHOTO COMPETITION

Unfortunately we had very few entries for May but many thanks to Amanda Cumming who sent in three lovely photos which can all be seen on the Village website by clicking here.

We thought the best was her photo of the first foal she saw in 2014:

So come on you budding David Baileys and send some more photos in for June!

MICRO CHIPPING OF DOGS IN THE COMMUNITY

As mentioned last week the government has announced that all dogs must be microchipped by 6th April 2016.

The Dogs Trust has a roaming chipping team to provide FREE micro chipping of dogs around the country.

They do not have much planned in the New Forest this year but they are available to visit Minstead on Saturday 9th August if there is sufficient local interest.

If you would like to take advantage of this offer please let us know by emailing minsteadpc@googlemail.com or ringing the Clerk on 023 8081 2375 so we can judge whether it will be worthwhile sending the team.
