Mobile app – available on iPhone and Android

If you spot fly-tipping, street rubbish, illegal fly posting, a broken pavement or street lighting, problems with parking meters and pot holes in the road, abandoned vehicles, dead animals, drains and graffiti, antisocial behaviour issues and much more while out and about, you don’t have to wait until you get home to report it.

The New Forest In Touch mobile app lets you photograph, video and report problems directly to the New Forest District Council – where the issue will be quickly addressed by the appropriate service.

The fast and efficient app, which is free to download from iTunes and Google Play, lets you report issues 24/7 from anywhere in the UK via your Smartphone.

Some may be interested to know that last week Hampshire County Council launched ‘Serving Hampshire’ asking for views on different ways that the County Council and the 11 district councils in Hampshire could change, or be reorganised. This is a response from the County Council to the long running debate on possible devolution for Hampshire and Isle of Wight. The consultation is being undertaken alone by the County Council and not in partnership with any of the District Councils in Hampshire. The consultation, which asks for opinions on options including doing away with all 11 district and borough councils and replacing them with one all-purpose unitary, can be found using the link Hampshire consultation. It runs until 20 September 2016.

Also of possible interest is the Solent Devolution Deal which is being progressed by Southampton, Portsmouth and the Isle of Wight unitary authorities together with the Solent Local Enterprise Partnership. Details can be found using the link Solent Deal. No district councils are currently included within the Combined Authority deal but together with other districts in Hampshire are listed as possible associate members or observers.
