CHRISTMAS IN MINSTEAD!

FATHER CHRISTMAS’ VISIT TO MINSTEAD SAT 20th DECEMBER!

Many congratulations and thanks to all who contributed to making Father Christmas’s visit such a success on Saturday evening – the music, the carols, the mulled wine, the mince pies and everything else! He thoroughly enjoyed his time in Minstead and hopes all the children got what they wanted. He plans to return again next year!

Also many thanks to Nick Mellersh and the Mummers for their amazing Christmas performance.

 OTHER FAIRLY INTERESTING STUFF

A STRATEGIC CYCLING NETWORK

Following last year’s petition in the Village and the discussion at the Annual Assembly in March, the Parish Council has prepared a proposal for a strategic cycling network in the New Forest so that both locals and visitors cyclists can cycle safely between major settlements, specifically Cadnam to Lymington via Lyndhurst and Brockenhurst.

Please visit the Village website to read more and give your support by contacting any of the addressees to whom this proposal has been sent. These are listed on the last two pages of the main proposal.

Many thanks to Councillor Richard Taylor for all his hard work in putting this proposal together.

 MINSTEAD MAIL

A final reminder that we are starting to prepare the next edition of Minstead Mail which it is hoped will be printed and distributed to all households in the civil parish in January.  It is hoped to include future village events up to and including Easter (5th April 2015)

If you have any contributions please email them to minsteadpc@googlemail.com or give them to any Parish Councillor or the Parish Clerk.

So far there have been none!!

YET MORE ON BROADBAND!

There will be a free Brand New Forest Broadband event in the NFDC Council Chamber in Lyndhurst on Wed 28th Jan 2015 from 6 to 8 pm

 HAMPSHIRE ALERT COMMUNITY MESSAGING SYSTEM

A further bit of encouragement for you to visit Hampshire Alert and consider signing up to live and instant messages, such as:

  • It’s the last few days in the build up to Christmas and the last minute rush of purchasing gifts and enjoying social events with friends and family. Please click here for some advice on how to keep safe over the remainder of the festive season.
  • On Friday 12th December at approximately 8:30pm, at Bunkers Hill near Beaulieu, a brown Jenny donkey was struck down by a vehicle which left the scene without notifying anyone that the donkey was injured.  If you see a Silver BMW, made between 1997 and 1998, so possibly a ‘R’’S’ or ‘T’ registration, with a missing passenger wing mirror and side flasher unit or if you know of someone who has recently had repair work conducted on their Silver BMW or if you have any information on this incident, please call 101 and quote 44140443541.
