PEACOCKS ON THE LOOSE?
There seem to be a couple of peacocks on the loose in the Village which are beginning to cause a noise nuisance to some.
If you know anything about them please let us know by emailing minsteadpc@googlemail.com or by contacting any Parish Councillor.
PHONE BOX NOW BELONGS TO PARISH COUNCIL
BT has recently removed the apparatus from the phone box opposite the Trusty and the kiosk now belongs to Minstead Parish Council.
Future use of the kiosk will be discussed at the next Parish Council meeting on Monday 5th June and we would welcome ideas about this beforehand.
Please email any suggestions to minsteadpc@googlemail.com or clerk@minstead.gov.uk.
BICYCLE THEFTS
You may have seen the Hampshire Alert message in which Police warn that thieves are now targeting bicycles that are attached to the back of vehicles parked in the New Forest, especially in the Forest’s campsites and car parks. The thieves are using bolt cutters to break through any chains that are being used to secure the bicycles to the racks on the backs of vehicles.
There are now bicycle locks that are alarmed and can be used to secure your bicycle to your vehicle. If you are able to keep your bicycle in your vehicle then that is another excellent way of protecting it.
In June, the New Forest Heart Neighbourhood Policing Team will be joining forces with the British Transport Cycle Crime Team and holding some bicycle safety events in the New Forest. Venues and dates to follow.
CYBER FRAUD
Action Fraud, the National Fraud and Cyber Crime Reporting Centre’s website is worth a visit to get the latest on WannaCry Scams and fraudulent on line fundraising.
