ANNUAL FLOWER, FRUIT AND VEGETABLE SHOW THIS COMING SATURDAY 5TH SEPTEMBER

ALL ARE WELCOME AND ENCOURAGED TO TAKE PART!

Entries should be with the Hon Secretary Mrs Janet Mitchell no later than this Wednesday 2nd September.

2014 Cup Winners are asked to return cups to the Hon Secretary by this Wednesday 2nd September.

Judging will commence at 10.30 am and the Show will be open to the public from 2.00 pm.

The opening Ceremony will take place at 2.45 pm and teas will be available from 3.00 pm onwards.

Cups and Special Awards will be presented at 4.15 pm followed by draws and collection of prize money.

Prizes for the tombola should be handed in to the Shop.

All help in setting up from 4.00pm Friday 4th September will be very welcome.

MINSTEAD MAIL

The Autumn 2015 edition of Minstead Mail is being prepared and will be printed and distributed in hard copy to all households in the Parish towards the end of September.  It will include details of all known events up until the New Year

SCHOOL CROSSINGS

As the start of the next school term is upon us all should be aware that there will be more children crossing our roads at various points on their way to school and on their way home.

See School Crossing leaflet Sept 15 which gives advice to both pedestrians and drivers about School Crossings and the Patrol Service.

 VOTER REGISTRATION

You will shortly receive NFDC’s annual voter registration canvass, if you have not already got it.

If you wish to vote do check the details and make amendments if necessary in accordance with the directions on the form

 MINSTEAD ALL SAINTS

sign up for Church Notices.

There will be a Silent Auction of Kate Charman’s pen and ink drawing of All Saints’ Church from Aug 15th to Oct 2nd 2015.  See Silent auction poster2.

Like to bid for the picture? There are forms available in the church porch.  Once you’ve completed one, please bring it to church or give it to one of the churchwardens.

Bids will be accepted until 9pm on Friday October 2nd.

The draw will take place on Sunday October 4th, during the Church’s 9.30am celebration of Harvest Festival.  If yours proves to be the highest bid, we will be in touch.

 MINSTEAD STORY WRITING COMPETITION

“What did the 800 year old yew tree in the Churchyard see?”

Age groups: up to 7 years; 8-11 years; 12 and over.

Competition closes tomorrow Monday 31st August 2015.

 SATURDAY 12TH SEPTEMBER STUDY CENTRE OPEN/APPLE DAY

12.30-4.30 pm

This is a family day in celebration of apples, local produce, acoustic music and storytelling. Bring you apples to be identified by expert Chris Bird from Sparsholt College or to be juiced in the traditional apple press (bring lots of containers!). There will be an Apple Cake and an Apple Creature Competition for the creative amongst you!

£3 per family, everyone welcome!
