WATER MAIN REPLACEMENT
A further reminder that Bournemouth Water state that they will be starting work this soggy Monday 4th January to replace several existing water mains. All households should have received a letter containing details of the scheme. The work in Lyndhurst Rd will be undertaken using 2 way traffic light control while Newtown Rd will be temporarily closed to through traffic.
THE MINSTEAD DEFIBRILLATOR
Many thanks to those who have volunteered for resuscitation training on 27th January! We shall be in touch with you directly with further details.
There are still plenty of spaces available for more volunteers at either 4pm or 7pm on Wednesday 27th January and an additional session can be arranged if there is sufficient demand.
Ideas for fund raising to help pay for this important piece of potentially life-saving equipment for our community will be most welcome.
MINSTEAD MAIL
We are still looking for items for the next Minstead Mail which we hope to publish in the second half of the month, in particular important events up to and including Easter.
If you have anything you would like included do let us know either by email to minsteadpc@googlemail.com or by contacting the Clerk or any Parish Councillor.
We hope to include Births, Marriages and Deaths announcements if relatives would like this. Again, just let us know.
VILLAGE LUNCH
The first Village Lunch of the New Year will be on Tuesday 19th January in the Trusty Servant. Meet at 12.30 pm for an opportunity to chat with friends and neighbours. There will be a choice of special meals at £6.50 or you can choose from the main menu.
All welcome!

A CHRISTMAS CAROL by CHARLES DICKENS
See CATS flyer Jan 2016 for performances of A Christmas Carol by the Copythorne Amateur Theatrical Society and the Forest School of Dance on 16th, 22nd and 23rd January 2016 in Copythorne Parish Hall.
LIBRARY SERVICES
If you want to have your say on the future of the Hampshire Library Service you can comment on HCC’s draft library strategy which is out for public consultation until Saturday 16th January 2016. Printed copies of the questionnaire are also available in all Hampshire libraries and in mobile library vehicles.
In essence HCC states that many people access library services very differently now compared with how they used them years ago and it is seeking a clear focus for the future of the Service. It also expects that it will need to save money in the future but that is not the only reason for change!
