KEEPING IN TOUCH

We hope very much that most in the Village have been kept informed of events during the recent spell of extreme weather by following us on Facebook for local information; by visiting the NFDC website for local services; and through Hampshire Alert for road problems and other weather related  issues in the region.

We were pleased that the snow plough the PC bought some years ago has come into its own to clear our roads on Thursday and Friday last week.  Hopefully most of them remained usable with care for most of the time!

175 years in a Country Practice

By Dr Peter Burrows

Peter Burrows is a retired GP and will talk about the history of his practice in Romsey.  Record books kept by his predecessors date back to the 1830s and show details of their attendance on local patients, including Lord Palmerston and Florence Nightingale.  Peter will describe the conditions of practice in the 19th century and the eccentricities of the practitioners.  He will talk about the changes that came with the introduction of the NHS and those that he saw during 35 years in the practice.

Venue: Emery Down and Bank Village Hall, SO43 7EB

Cost: £3 on the door.  Refreshments available.

ALL SAINTS CHURCH
See All Saints Notices and Benefice Notices to find out about services and to read the latest church notices and follow All Saints Church on Facebook.
