Minstead eNewsletter 4th March 2018
KEEPING IN TOUCH
We hope very much that most in the Village have been kept informed of events during the recent spell of extreme weather by following us on Facebook for local information; by visiting the NFDC website for local services; and through Hampshire Alert for road problems and other weather related issues in the region.
We were pleased that the snow plough the PC bought some years ago has come into its own to clear our roads on Thursday and Friday last week. Hopefully most of them remained usable with care for most of the time!

Also bear in mind that deliveries this month are likely to be delayed by the high level of demand created by the current low temperatures but hopefully we can have deliveries before Easter!

175 years in a Country Practice
By Dr Peter Burrows
Peter Burrows is a retired GP and will talk about the history of his practice in Romsey. Record books kept by his predecessors date back to the 1830s and show details of their attendance on local patients, including Lord Palmerston and Florence Nightingale. Peter will describe the conditions of practice in the 19th century and the eccentricities of the practitioners. He will talk about the changes that came with the introduction of the NHS and those that he saw during 35 years in the practice.
Venue: Emery Down and Bank Village Hall, SO43 7EB
Cost: £3 on the door. Refreshments available.
Next Sunday 11th March is Mothering Sunday and there will be a special service at 10.30am
Due to the adverse weather conditions, the decision was taken to postpone the celebration of Women’s World Day of Prayer due to take place on March 2nd and a new date will be publicised soon.
