RAGWORT

As posted on Facebook recently, it’s that time of year again!  As last year there does not seem to be much ragwort around but as we all know it is still extremely harmful to animals if eaten so we encourage everybody to pull up/dig up any you find in your neighbourhood and dispose of it by burning or in your black bag.

Do be careful to wear protective gloves and hi-vis jackets if you are out on the road.

This photo of ragwort was taken in South Island New Zealand where it is believed to have been introduced by some well meaning Victorians either by accident or even on purpose – so it travels well and can get anywhere!

AN IMPORTANT DATE FOR YOUR DIARY

Don’t forget the Village Fete which will be held on the Village Green on Saturday 10th August!

Please keep the date free and support it as best you can….all proceeds will be shared between the Church Tower Fund and the Community Shop Project.

For all offers of help, either for setting up, running a stall or taking down please contact Steve Cattell on 07732306406 email steve_cattell@hotmail.com.

If you have any books for the book stall please drop them off with Polly and Oz at Curtle Cottage.
