VILLAGE FETE SATURDAY 15TH AUGUST

AND BEER FESTIVAL

This year’s Village Fete is sponsored by the Parish Council in conjunction with the Village Shop and the Trusty Servant in aid of the Church, Junior Minstead and Help for Heroes.

FUN FOR ALL THE FAMILY!

There will be all the usual stalls and games as well as live music on the Green.

In addition, St John’s Ambulance will be present to demonstrate resuscitation techniques and how a defibrillator can help to save lives.  They will also answer any other questions about first aid.

All help will be most welcome to put up the various tents, gazebos, stands etc on the day from 9.30am, and also for taking everything down from about 4pm.

If you can lend a gazebo or suitable tent that would be great: just bring it along on the morning.

Please let Steve Cattell know on 023 8081 3574 if and how you can help.

Also, do tell him if you are prepared to help out during the day on a stall or with one of the games.

All bottles for the bottle stall should be handed in to the Shop.

Books for the book stall should be delivered to Polly and Robert Osborne at Curtle Cottage or brought to the Green on Saturday morning.

Sylvia Dibben has kindly agreed to organise the rest area and the tea tent on behalf of All Saints’ Church.  She would be grateful for contributions of baked goods and also lots of helpers on the day. Volunteers please contact Sylvia on 023 8081 2971 or one of the Churchwardens (Isabel on 023 8028 2724 or Liz on 023 8081 1115)

PLEASE COME ALONG AND SUPPORT THIS GREAT ANNUAL VILLAGE EVENT!

The Trusty Servant will also be holding its annual beer and cider festival on the 14th/15th with live entertainment on the Friday evening and back to back live music all day on the Saturday. There will be a BBQ and hog roast and plenty of different beers and ciders, fun for all the family.

FOREST PHARMACY BARTLEY – PATIENT SURVEY

If you use the Forest Pharmacy in Bartley you may wish to complete the Forest Pharmacy Patient Survey and take it to the pharmacy.

The purpose of the survey is to gain a better understanding of the needs of the local population ahead of making further decisions regarding a proposal to provide pharmaceutical services under a new Local Pharmaceutical Services (LPS) contract that were previously provided by the pharmacy under the Essential Small Pharmacy LPS scheme which terminated on 31 March 2015. The services include dispensing services, repeat dispensing services, disposal services in respect of unwanted drugs, promotion of healthy lifestyles, signposting, support for self-care, medicines use review and the new medicines service.

The survey can also be completed on line by visiting

https://www.engage.england.nhs.uk/survey/26ad74d1

or by filling in a paper copy at Bartley Post Office or the Pharmacy itself.

The closing date is Friday 14th August.

ADVICE REGARDING IRISH MALES SELLING GOODS FROM VEHICLES

The sharp eyed amongst you will have read a further message on Hampshire Alert about reports received from the community in different parts of the New Forest concerning suspicious persons who were predominately Irish males who were cold calling at addresses. They were also reported as stopping on the roadside and trying to sell garden machinery, or general purpose electrical equipment such as smart phones and generators.
At this time there is nothing to suggest that the items for sale are stolen. However, it is suspected that the goods may be of substandard quality, despite the pricing being similar to new products.
We would urge people not to purchase any of these items, and be mindful of any suspicious activity in your area. Please contact 101 and report any details you may have noted about the person(s) and or vehicle that was being used i.e. number plate, colour, description, any identifying features, i.e. stickers in rear windows, dents etc.

To keep up to date with incidents in the locality sign up to Hampshire Alert by visiting https://www.hampshirealert.co.uk/
