SOCIAL MEDIA ‘FRIEND’ REQUESTS FROM EXTREMIST GROUPS – UPDATE
Further enquiries have revealed that the male adults who made contact on Facebook are probably not ISIS members. However the advice to schools, parents and teachers to be aware of social media and internet dangers remains.
Hampshire Police has a web page called Safe4Me, which contains resources with which teachers can reinforce this message in school.
Additionally, click here for information about how Hampshire Constabulary and local authorities are working with partner agencies and the public to stop people from becoming or supporting terrorists. It also explains how the public can help us build stronger, safer communities who can reject terrorism in all its forms.
If you have any concerns or require further advice, please contact Hampshire Police at: schoolyouthengagement@hampshire.pnn.police.uk
