 VILLAGE SHOP NEWS

Spring has well and truly sprung and to prove it we have just taken delivery of a whole new range of jewellery, inexpensive gifts and bags and of course new scarves all in a range of fresh spring-like colours.

Pop in and have a look and see what you think.  There’s no obligation to buy but we are very pleased with them and it’s nice to hear your views.

 CHANGE OF SHOP OPENING HOURS

***Please note that as from Monday 9th March the shop will open at 8.30am every day weekdays and weekends.***

This is only a small change and we hope it won’t inconvenience anyone in any way.

Jan and the Shop Team.

FIREARMS SECURITY

Protect your firearm, protect your sport

According to the police, on average 475 firearms are stolen each year in England and Wales. Although the level of theft is very low compared with the 1,800,000-plus legally held firearms and shotguns, one firearm in the wrong hands is one too many. Recently BASC has been working with the National Crime Agency (NCA) and the police to draw up new advice on protecting firearms from theft. This advice is now published on the BASC website.

The advice, “Protect Your Firearm, Protect Your Sport”, covers storage and transportation of shotguns and firearms and how to keep vigilant when out and about. It also shows the steps that can be taken to avoid being targeted via social media.

The advice has been produced as part of a national initiative to reduce the chances of theft of firearms. It is available to download here: http://bit.ly/1KBfz8s
