 RESUSCITATION/DEFIBRILLATOR TRAINING

Many thanks to all who attended Ian Jones’ classes on Wednesday.

Further information can be found on the British Heart Foundation website.

Although there was no charge for the sessions any contributions will be most welcome and will be divided between the South Central Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust’s charity which helps set up new AEDs (Automated External Defibrillators) and the cost of the Minstead defibrillator.  If you have not already done so, please give these either to Helen Bennett, Alan Ferguson or Polly Osborne.

We will keep you posted on the progress of the Minstead defibrillator and hopefully some enjoyable fund raising events.

 ROADS

The Parish Council is in almost constant dialogue with the various authorities about the poor state of the roads and verges around the Village.  The bad weather, the various on- and off-road works and the fact that other communities also have similar problems means that getting much done to improve things at the moment is difficult.

While we shall continue to try on your behalf, it also can help if any road problem is reported by everyone who can do so by visiting the HCC website

http://www3.hants.gov.uk/roads/roadproblems.htm

or you could ponder the following Epigram by Burns sent in by one of our readers:

I’m now arrived-thanks to the gods!-
Thro’ pathways rough and muddy,
A certain sign that makin roads
Is
no this people’s study:
Altho’ Im not wi’
 Scripture cram’d,

I’m sure the Bible says
That heedless sinners shall be damn’d,
Unless they mend their ways.

 BOURNEMOUTH WATER MAINS REPLACMENT

Further to the above (!) we understand that work along the road to Newtown will start this week and that there will be road closures and diversions for those affected.  Hopefully this will not go on for more than a week!

MINSTEAD ALL SAINTS

For those who have not already received it see ALL SAINTS PARISH NOTICES 31 JAN 2016 for the week’s Notices, details of Services and other events.  Follow All Saints activities on Facebook.

MINSTEAD BELL RINGERS

Minstead Bell Ringers would welcome one or two new members, either with or without previous experience of ringing. Contrary to popular belief, ringing bells does not require either strength or musical ability – just enthusiasm and some commitment to practise once or twice a week. Ringing is a social activity that exercises the brain as well as the body. If you are interested please contact Peter Bennett (023 8081 2358) or Polly Osborne (023 8081 2375). We would love to hear from you!
