BEAT REPORT

The Safer New Forest Partnership has a range of security products, including alarmed padlocks, for sale at the New Forest District Council Information Offices across the New Forest. There are also a number of helpful resources, including a laminated card for drivers to leave in their parked cars which states ‘No valuables are left in this vehicle’, useful guides and leaflets available for free.

MINSTEAD MAIL
A further reminder that we are starting to prepare the next edition of Minstead Mail which it is hoped will be printed and distributed to all households in the civil parish in early January. It is intended to include future village events up to and including Easter (5th April 2015)
If you have any contributions please email them to minsteadpc@googlemail.com or give them to any Parish Councillor or the Parish Clerk.

Friday 12th December – Charity Race Night, become a trainer, owner or jockey for the night, a great fun night with a free fun quiz and betting galore, all proceeds to Dreams Come True Children’s Charity! Starts at 8.30pm.
Saturday 13th December 10.45am – New Forest Hound Hunt Meet, come and see the traditional hunt meet at The Trusty Servant, festive tipples and nibbles provided!
Tuesday 16th December – Village Lunch 12.30pm
Wednesday 17th December – Christmas Quiz Night – a great fun Christmas themed quiz night, all proceeds to Oakhaven Hospice, earlier start time of 8pm!
Saturday 20th December – Father Christmas visits (see below)
Wednesday 31st December – New Years Eve Party Night, a fantastic way to see in the new year, special specials on the board and dancing the new year in with DJ Ben Franco, no entry fee, booking is essential for tables.

CHRISTMAS AT ALL SAINTS CHURCH
Friday Dec 19th 7.30pm – Churches Together “Walking Nativity” in Lyndhurst.
Sunday 21st Dec 4.00pm in the Church – Service of Lessons and Carols followed by festive refreshments.
Christmas Eve 4.30pm Crib Service round our special Minstead Crib and at 11.30pm Midnight Mass, the best way to start Christmas.
Christmas Day 10.30am. Family Service. Jesus’ birthday – come and celebrate. Bring your family, bring your presents!
You are invited to share the remembrance of a loved one at Christmas by filling in a name tag which will be used as part of the All Saints’ Church Christmas Tree decorations. More detail on the posters in the church porch and at the village shop.
You can also send Christmas greetings to your local friends by using the Giant Christmas Card in the Church and donate the money you might have spent on cards to support the Mukinge hospital in Zambia!

COMMUNITY TRANSPORT MINIBUS FUND
The Department for Transport has recently launched a £25 million Community Minibus Fund. Community transport organisations across the country are being invited to apply for funding for a new minibus. Smaller operators and those who help out in rural areas will be favoured in the scheme. Anyone interested in making a bid should send an email confirming their intention to bid to buses@dft.gsi.gov.uk putting “Community Transport Minibus Fund” in the subject line by Friday 12 December 2014.

Oil order dates for 2015 are as follows (all Wednesdays, all by 9.00am):
January 14th; February 18th; March 18th; May 13th; July 15th; September 16th; October 14th; November 11th and December 2nd.
From now on Mike Hutton will accept orders as FIRM at the best price he can get on the day UNLESS you specifically ask at the time of ordering for him to seek confirmation from you on the day. If you do require him to confirm your order, you MUST do it by e-mail by 11am or your order will not be processed.
Reminders will be sent out as usual.

FATHER CHRISTMAS TO VISIT MINSTEAD!
Saturday 20th December between 6 and 8 pm, depending on snow conditions and reindeer performance on the day.
There will be carols, mince pies and a festive tipple outside The Trusty from 6pm……and possibly even some presents!

EMERY DOWN ALMSHOUSES – PRESERVING OUR HERITAGE
Work to modernise and extend the almshouses in Emery Down will finish in early December!

LYNDHURST CHRISTMAS FUN DAY
From 10 am on the 13th December Lyndhurst is hosting a Christmas Fun day.
There will be a Santa’s grotto, stalls, carol singing and lots of Christmas fun on the street.
